SIERRA VISTA — The Nancy J. Brua Animal Care Center will offer discounted adoption fees on dogs during the month of April, in hopes of findin homes for a recent influx of canines that has stretched the facility near its capacity.
Throughout April, the regular dog adoption fee will drop from $75 to $50. Plus the center will offer a “Bring a Buddy, Get a Buddy” two-for-one deal. Anyone who brings a friend to the animal shelter can qualify for two dog adoptions for $75. That means you and a friend could each walk away with a new companion for just shy of $38 each.
“We don’t want to be in a position where we need to euthanize animals due to a lack of space,” says Arleen Garcia, animal control supervisor. “One recent case involving 14 dogs, combined with a variety of other new arrivals, has put us in a tight spot right now. This does make it a great time for residents thinking of adopting a dog, as we have a big variety of lovable canines looking for homes.”
The dog adoption fee includes sterilization, the first set of vaccinations, a complete physical exam, a dog license, and a microchip implant. To learn more, call the Nancy J. Brua Animal Care Center at (520) 458-4151.
