While October is often celebrated with scary costumes and horror movie marathons, this month the Nancy J. Brua Animal Care Center is celebrating something no one needs to fear.
In recognition of National Pit Bull Awareness Month, the animal shelter is offering a $25 discount on all pit bull adoptions through the end of the month. And if you have questions about this often misunderstood breed, you don’t want to miss the shelter’s Pit Bulls Aren’t Spooky Open House on Saturday, Oct. 26, from noon to 5:00 p.m.
Dog trainers will be on hand at the open house to answer any training or behavioral questions attendees may have. Many people do not know that pit bulls who are raised responsibly are highly affectionate and obedient dogs with a calm temperament.
Halloween pet photos can also be taken at the event for a $5 donation. Some costumes will be available. And attendees can enjoy light refreshments during this fun, informative event.
