On Sunday, the Nancy J. Brua Animal Care Center held a Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon. Arleen Garcia, NJBACC Supervisor, shared that there are only six paid staff at the Care Center and that without volunteers there would be limited dog walking, cat cuddling, admin support, and so much more that enriches the lives of the pets in waiting and supports the public.
Pictured here are just some of the volunteers who spend time each week cuddling cats, cleaning kennels, feeding the pets, walking dogs, and helping members of the public find that new friend. Would you like to be part of this incredible group???
Pet Volunteer Program
The Nancy J. Brua Animal Care Center employs the assistance of volunteers. Volunteers are used for administrative duties, caring for the animals, adoption counseling, helping to socialize the animals, transporting the animals to the veterinarian and any other duty that may help our operation.
Our volunteers must be 18 years of age or older.
For more information and possible volunteer openings, contact the shelter at (520) 458-4151 or download a Sierra Vista Police Department volunteer application form. Applications are also available at the Nancy J. Brua Animal Care Center and the completed forms can be submitted at the shelter.
